Exit - The Balkan Woodstock! This annual festival draws 150,000 and is staged inside a medieval fortress overlooking the Danube in the town of Novi Sad, about an hour northwest of Belgrade. 2007 performers include Beastie Boys, Basement Jaxx, CSS, Lauryn Hill, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Robert Plant, Snoop Dog and Wu-Tang Clan. July 12-15.

Guca - If you don't get your fill of gypsy troubadours during the wedding, then this is for you! The 47th annual gathering of trumpeters is not to be missed. Miles Davis once said about the Guca Festival: "I didn't know you could play trumpet that way." The town of Guca is about 2.5 hours south of Belgrade. August 8-12.
